She has written a memoir about working for a secretive and wildly prestigious Wall Street hedge fund. Recruiters are one of the main gatekeepers for the hedge fund and private equity industries. Hawaiian Airlines is rolling out complimentary Wi-Fi via SpaceX's Starlink on board commercial flights this week, the companies told CNBC, the first major U.S. airline to offer the satellite-based service. Hawaiian's plan for complimentary Wi-Fi comes as airlines ramp up their offerings for high-speed connectivity. "It really feels like an experience that should not be possible when you get on a commercial airline flight. Hawaiian signed an agreement with SpaceX in April 2022, looking to utilize the Starlink network – which consists of more than 5,000 satellites in low Earth orbit and boasts more than 2.3 million customers worldwide. I've had people say to me that the energy went down and people started to get really, really argumentative in there, so it's what happens when you get rid of me. Speaking of "Love Island," obviously you and Bergie were representing "Love Island" UK and US on "The Traitors." I love "Love Island," but for me, "Love Island" was 2022 season eight, and for me, that is a chapter closed. There's so much I want to do in my life now, and I don't think "Love Island" fits in that category. I'd love to host shows like "Love Island," but I definitely wouldn't go back as a contestant.

New York CNN —It’s been an exciting few weeks for the IPO market. People try to draw an analogy between the IPO market and a blocked pipe. That is one reason why the IPO market feels less stymied than it did 12 months ago. But if the current IPO market kicks off, it’s because of other macroeconomic factors. They’re going to very rapidly acquire customers and care much less about long term financial sustainability and climate and the environment.

CNN —Alaska Air (ALK) on Sunday announced it will buy Hawaiian Airlines (HA) for $1.9 billion. “This is a fantastic deal that bring two airlines that have amazing loyalties in our regions together,” said Alaska Airlines CEO Ben Minicucci in a news conference, adding that the merger will give customers in both states expanded domestic and international choices. The deal, which is forecast to take nine to 18 months, will see both companies keep their brands, a unique decision that Minicucci and Hawaiian Airlines CEO and President Peter Ingram say was made out of respect for the nearly hundred-year legacy of both airlines and the communities they serve. “In Alaska Airlines, we are joining an airline that has long served Hawai‘i, and has a complementary network and a shared culture of service,” said Ingram. “With the additional scale and resources that this transaction with Alaska Airlines brings, we will be able to accelerate investments in our guest experience and technology, while maintaining the Hawaiian Airlines brand.”Minicucci, who will become the CEO of both airlines, heralded the move as pro-consumer will allow for more robust domestic competition with United, Delta, Southwest and American airlines, which currently own 80% of the market share.

[1/3] Pope Francis attends a meeting with bishops of the Synod of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church at the Vatican, September 6, 2023. In a statement that was remarkable for its candour, they said their two-hour session with the pope at the Vatican was a "frank conversation". They were welcomed by the Kremlin, which praised the pope for what it said was his knowledge of Russian history. The statement from the Ukrainian bishops said the prelates "expressed the Ukrainian people's pain, suffering, and a certain disappointment" over the papal remarks. The statement quoted the pope as telling the bishops: "The fact that you doubted whom the pope is with was particularly painful for the Ukrainian people.

CNN —Ukrainian officials have criticized Pope Francis’ recent address to Russian youth, calling his remarks “imperialist propaganda.”The pontiff made a video address to the 10th All-Russian Catholic Youth Assembly in St. Petersburg on Friday, during which he urged them to view themselves as descendants of the Russian empire. You are the descendants of great Russia: the great Russia of saints, rulers, the great Russia of Peter I, Catherine II, that empire – educated, great culture and great humanity. Last year, Russian President Vladimir Putin compared himself to Peter the Great during an exhibition dedicated to the first Russian emperor, using the comparison to justify Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. “Peter the Great waged the Great Northern War for 21 years,” Putin said at the time. Mike Pence, who served as Donald Trump’s vice president and is vying to helm the White House, is campaigning on eliminating the Fed’s employment mandate. And what would change if the employment mandate is done away with, if anything? Lawmakers on Capitol Hill, with the sitting president’s approval, can simply amend the Federal Reserve Act to eliminate the employment mandate or even add another one. In CNN’s town hall with Pence earlier this month, the former vice president again floated the idea of eliminating the employment mandate. It seems clear that Democrats would take issue with any attempts to rid the Fed of its employment mandate.
